Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3 : New York Auto Show
Mercedes-Benz unveiled at the New York Auto Show the brand new SLS AMG GT3, a racing version of the gullwing model. The new SLS AMG GT3 pays tribue to the 300 SL racing sports car of 1952 which first established the “gullwing” legend who won the legendary “Carrera Panamericana” long-distance race. The new racing car comes with a completely new body kit consisting of a new front apron with larger air intakes, new side sills and an impressive rear spoiler to generate extra downforce. As prescribed by the FIA GT3 rules, the car features the same AMG 6.3-litre V8 engine found on the production version but thanks to its lower weight, the GT3 version will be faster comparing to the standard car (the SLS AMG can sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.8 seconds while the top speed exceeds 300 km/h).
